MEET THE TEAM
Mike Carter – Managing Director
Mike’s family have been in the travel business for four generations. Having grown up working in the family’s chain of high street travel agencies, it was a natural progression for Mike to found Holidays2, as an online tour operator, in 2004.
Following a successful travel career, where even as far back as 1977 Mike started his own escorted tours operation escorting groups throughout the USA, Mike’s career culminated as MD of a major international tour operator. Given Mike’s in-depth experience he was determined to offer bespoke and tailor made holidays to far flung destinations but without the high street price tag.
Mike has travelled extensively, for over forty years, and has been arranging quality holidays that can be individually tailored to the client’s exact requirements for almost as long. Over the years, Mike has travelled the world but his favourite locations are Doubtful Sound and Kaikoura in New Zealand, Lake Louise & the Gaspe in Canada, Perth & Tasmania in Australia and Colorado, New Mexico, the Dakotas and Montana for a flavour of the “real America”. Being a train buff, Mike’s most cherished holiday experiences include the VIA Rail’s Canadian train from coast to coast, the Rocky Mountaineer in Canada and TranzAlpine train across the Southern Alps in New Zealand.
